We as editors wish to express their great appreciation to the chapter authors for their excellent contributions to this book.
Our publisher Gower has been very supportive and has agreed to have us edit a series of books in the area of wisdom, related to business, leadership and organisation.
We very much welcome this possibility for releasing a series of books on wisdom in these areas. To this end we would like to invite expressions of interest and short proposals from those of you, who might like to edit or (co-)author a book.
As we all know, the subject of wisdom in the context of leadership and organisation has many antecedents, involves various influencing factors or applications, which is why at this point we do not want to limit the range of possibilities. The series will consist of themed volumes, which bring together wisdom in relation to any issues and forms of organisation, management and/or leadership respectively the field of business or non-profit institutions.
Proposals might include areas such as:
• potential, functions, roles and applications of wisdom in/for: business (SME and TNC) as well as non-profit organisations, (including political, NGO, governmental, or educational institutions
o on all levels, micro-, meso-, macro-, individually and collectively)
• relevance, phenomena, forms, perspectives, and antecedents, influences or effects of wisdom as related to:
i. management and organizational learning, education
(e.g. MBA education)
ii. traditional, indigenous dimensions
iii. spiritual / religious topics
iv. gender, gendering (wo/man & wisdom)
v. philosophical, e.g. phenomenological perspectives
vi science-related areas, e.g. neuro-science
vii. psychological and/or sociological perspectives
viii. multi-, inter- and transdisciplinary research
ix. technologies, 'Gestell'
x. sustainability, responsibility
Please send your expressions of interest at any time, though for planning purposes, it would be helpful to receive these as soon as possible, and best before 17 December 2012.
These first proposals should be one page, describing the contents of the suggested book, including a brief biography, stating motivation, experience and qualifications.
