Self, Virtue, & Public Life RFP: funding opportunity

To support research on the self, virtue and public life, approximately 10 new research projects will be funded!

The Self, Virtue & Public Life is a three-year research initiative based at the University of Oklahoma. Funded with generous support from the Templeton Religion Trust, the purpose of the project is to:

Support new research on topics related to the self, virtue and public life;

and Integrate outreach on civic virtue into education and community organizations in Oklahoma.

The project period is from September 1, 2018 - August 31, 2021.

The Self, Virtue & Public Life will fund ten new research projects at approximately $190,000 per project. Projects must focus on themes related to the self, virtue and public life. Research teams must be interdisciplinary and meet the requirements of "Deep Integration," as defined in the Request for Proposals.

Subawards will begin on August 1, 2019 and end on May 31, 2021. Awardees will participate in two grant-sponsored conferences to share their research, and may be invited to submit contributions to a special journal issue.

Letters of Intent are due December 1, 2018. Full proposal invitations will be issued by January 15, 2019. Full proposals will be due March 15, 2019. Award notifications will be sent by May 15, 2019, and grants will begin August 1, 2019. Please see the Request for Proposals for further details.
