Mitch Leventhal is professor of professional practice and entrepreneurship at the University at Albany School of Education, where he specializes in educational leadership, international management and educational entrepreneurship. Previously, he served as vice chancellor for global affairs at the State University of New York (SUNY) system and as vice provost for international affairs at the University of Cincinnati.

Dr. Leventhal received his PhD from the University of Chicago, where he studied the development of offshore medical schools and development in the Caribbean. His current research interests include the integration of virtue ethics into modern leadership studies, and the development of a Stoic Theory of Leadership.
