Originally trained as a conductor and singer and after practising these professions for some years, I worked as a music critic and contributor in the Israeli (Hebrew) press for 14 years. Having received my Ph.D (summa cum laude) from the Hebrew University in Jerusalem with a dissertation on "The Modern in Music 1890-1920 Against the 'Crisis of Historicism' and the Breakdown of the Rational Paradigm : A Critical Analysis of a Style", I am presently a lecturer in the Department of Musicology at the Hebrew University, and also a music programs producer in Israel Radio "KOL HAMUSICA" classical music station. Presently I am completing my book on "Fin-de-siecle Music and the Breakdown of the Rational Paradigm".
